Object Description
Fragment. Camelid hair and 2 strings of cotton.
Groups: yes - un-repetitive
Colors: brown, white, tan, blue, red and yellow
Color combinations: monochrome, speckled
Strings: main, pendants, secondaries, topstrings
Ply: all S
Diameter: main, pendants 1,5-3mm
Recto/verso (tying pendant to mainstring): Fragment, so not possible to state
Knots:1/1 endknots (like a single knot), 1/2 endknots (a single knot securing the pendant tied with only part of the pendant as active), 8, long knots (S), single knots (S)
Short woolen yarns /ca 2 cm) in red, yellow and white tied into some of the 8-knots.
The quipu has 8-knots over longknots and several longknots and 8-knots over each other (4).
This quipu may be a fragment of V A 42579 (main string very similar).
