Object Description
Eine Frau mit hoher Kopfbedeckung, Schleier und Ohrringen steht auf einer Sphinx, das obere Ende geht in einen Schwanenkopf über.
Wahrscheinlich handelt es sich um den Teil eines Gerätes, vielleicht einer Kithara (Leier), die bei kultischen Handlungen gespielt wurde. Die Formensprache verweist auf Vorbilder aus dem Orient und aus Ägypten.

A woman wearing a high head-dress, veil and earrings stands on a sphinx, the upper end culminating in a swan’s neck. This probably was part of a device, possibly a kithara (lyre), which was played during cultic rituals. The style is indicative of models from the Ancient Near East and from Egypt.
